George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and the founders of this
country were for real freedom not mind control and hypocritical bullshit.
The founding fathers knew religion could be poison. They had
seen what the 100 Years War and Spanish Inquisition had done to Europe. Religious
disturbances that killed millions of people, many died in horrible ways.
John Adams said the Judeo-Christian
tradition "the most bloody religion that ever existed".
George Washington wrote "we have abundant reason to
rejoice that in this land...EVERY PERSON may worship God according to the dictates of his
own heart".
Jefferson wrote: "Are we to have a
censor whose imprimatur shall say what books may be sold, and what we may buy?...Whose
foot is to be the measure to which ours are all to be cut or stretched? Is a priest to be
our inquisitor or shall a layman simple as ourselves set up his reason as rule... It is an
insult against our citizens to question whether they are rational beings or not, and {an
insult} against religion to suppose it cannot stand the test of truth and reason."
Abe Lincoln said, "When you show me a church based on
the Golden Rule as it's only creed, then I will unite with it."
Ulysses S. Grant said
"Keep the church and state forever separate".
Religious zealots do not belong in government in the United
States of America.
