Aries rules the 5th House

ARIES the FIRE Sign is the ruler of the 5th House in the LEO - 1st House system. PLUTO rules ARIES as was explained earlier and all three [ARIES, PLUTO and the 5th House] have the same basic meaning, i.e. Family Non-Survival Dynamic. In the ARIES 1st House system the 5th House is ruled by LEO and the SUN.

The most prominent area of rulership for the 5th House is children. This is a major contradiction for LEO rulership of the 5th House. It makes a whole lot better sense to have the Family oriented ASTROLOGY Sign, ARIES, ruling the 5th House, the House of children than the Individual oriented Sign of LEO ruling the 5th House. Your love life, romance, pleasure and fun are also associated with the 5th House. At least three of these activities [maybe all 4] revolve around intimacy and sexuality. Sexuality is the motivating factor of the unconscious Family procreative actions Mother Nature set into action with ARIES type people. Mother Nature always seems to find a balance somewhere is it laws. ARIES wants to expand the gene pool while TAURUS wants to keep the gene pool in a limited range. Family is fundamental to ARIES not LEO. The Family Non-Survival dynamic-ARIES fits the 5th House profile much better than the more self-centered LEO type personality. ARIES unconscious purpose is to enlarge the biological gene pool. i.e. intermingling different cultures. This same principle allows an ARIES native to think of it's adopted child as equal to it's own biological child. This same attitude carry's on into ARIES adult relationships where their friend/'s could be treated the same as blood, sometimes to even be treated better than their blood relations.
